Was the Holy Spirit part of Jesus or a force controlled by God

the account where the woman with the blood flow touched jesus outer garment and was cured interests me.. jesus felt the power leave him and looked to see who touched him.

if the holy spirit was an active force seperate and controlled by god why would jesus have felt a power drain.. if you consider most of jesus healings to be a placebo which only healed people who believed like present day faith healers do this account sheds a different perspective.. if you believe jesus was god and all powerful it seems strange that he would notice the insignicant power needed to stop a flow of blood considering the awesome displays of power which never seemed to bother him(calming a storm, replacing a severed ear, raising the dead, feeding thousands with basically nothing..although my mom could do that too).

Maybe a better question is, How much of His deity did Jesus empty himself of? Philippians 2: 5-8 "...who, although He existed in the form of God...but emptied Himself, and being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death,..."

"mighty god" is jehovah in isaiah 10:21, jeremiah 32:18 etc.

i thought some of our bible scholar peeps might be interested in this.. biblical arts center, dallas to exhibit 'dead sea scrolls'.

dr. william noah, left, curator of dead sea scrolls to the forbidden book, displays a fragment of the dead sea scrolls as edward g. white, lovers lane umc, dallas, holds one of the rare bibles to be exhibited at the biblical arts center, dallas, from sept. 5 through nov. 16.. biblical arts center, dallas, has scheduled the exhibit of dead sea scrolls to the forbidden book, sept. 5 through nov. 16, a one-of-a-kind exhibit of rare ancient biblical manuscripts and fragments.. .

a special preview of the unique exhibit was presented by dr. william noah on june 29 to the combined sunday school classes of lovers lane umc, dallas.. .

My point was, that you said "without God, we cannot know God".

Can you show me a quote? I refered to Romans 3:11 which states " There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

So, if he doesn't choose to show himself to those who don't believe in him, how can it be their fault?

Just like Adam, they choose to sin. Sin is thier "fault" not God's, God did not sin. God has no "fault"

Read Romans 3 for yourself, particularly verses 9 through the end of the chapter.

Inquiry Thank you for your response. You ask some "good" questions, but I am easily impressed. Now what did God mean in Psalm 14 when he states "there is none that doith good, no not one"? There are a couple of ways to go on this. 1) One thing to keep in mind as we examine this passage, is that we, as sinful men, have a much different ideal of what good is, then God does. He is much more qualified to judge! 2) The other thing to keep in mind is, just because a nonbeliever does manage to do good things, this does not mean that God is not the cause or the sorce. Examples: (Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery) And Joseph says in Genesis 50: 20 "ye thought evil against me, but God meant it for good" God can use anyone or anything to do his will. In Numbers 22 God uses a donkey! Romans 8: 28 All things work together for good... D Dog
